Ed for Inala

Inala by-election

Late 2023 former Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk announced her full retirement from politics, triggering a by-election for the seat of Inala. It is the intention of our State President Edward Carroll to contest for this seat. Ed has been a local to the Inala area since his teens, having lived in Oxley, Richlands, and Durack over the past two decades. A graduate of Corinda State High, Ed knows the issues facing Inala and surrounds intimately, such as the excessive rise in rents and the lack of effective policies to stop juvenile antisocial behaviour.

Ed is a father of 3, and became more involved in politics back in 2018 as a way of ensuring the world he leaves behind is better for his children. He ran in the seat of Miller at the 2020 election, primarily to challenge then Transport Minister Mark Bailey. The policies that Ed will be taking to the by-election, and the full state election in October, can be seen below and in the Policies section.

Policies for Inala

  • Upgrade the Woogaroo St/Johnson Rd intersection, and Pine/Archerfield Rd intersection
  • Build a 24hr youth drop in centre to get kids off the street
  • Create community owned power in Inala and Forest Lake to help lower prices
  • Help Nurses and Aged Care workers in the electorate with Nursing Housing Authority
  • Trial a specialist trauma trained team for FDV calls and welfare checks

To see the full suite of policies I am taking to not only this by-election in Inala, but every electorate in Queensland this October at the State election, see our Policies page.
